I Want To Create A Young Filipino Version Of EWTN

Finally, you can now watch the first episode of my reality TV show, Preacher in Blue Jeans. Today!
Hey, I need your help. Please write me your comments and suggestions on the “comments section” below.
In that way, I can improve the show as each day goes on.
Please help me make it the most inspiring TV show on planet earth!
When it comes to using media for God, my hero is Mother Angelica.
From a tiny garage, she made her first Catholic TV show.
And she did not stop.
Together with a handful of cloistered nuns (unbelievable, right?) in Our Lady of The Angels Monastery, Eternal Word Television Network or EWTN broadcasts to 127 countries and 118 million households all over the world.
Mother has her protestant counterpart.
According to Frank Hilario in his column for the American Chronicle (9/8/06), that’s Trinity Broadcasting Network with the likes of Benny Hinn, Robert Schuller, Joyce Meyer, and many others.
On the Catholic side, it’s Mother’s EWTN and Fr. Benedict Groeschel, Scott Hahn, Fr. Mitch Pacwa, Fr. Frank Pavone, etc.
Do you know how much does it cost to run EWTN each year?
In 2001, it cost $29 Million. I don’t know how much higher this year.
Yet for the past 25 years, EWTN was supported by donations alone.
I’m so inspired by Mother Angelica, I want to one day build a local, young, Filipino version of EWTN here in the Philippines. With lots of preachers in blue jeans sharing God’s Word to millions of Filipino viewers here and abroad 24 hours a day!
That’s our dream.
Help me make it possible!
First, write your comments and suggestions below.
Second, join the www.kerygmafamily.com and support our ministry through your prayers and monthly love offerings.
Together with you and with God's power at work in us, all things are possible!

  3. Bo-maybe its better if the interviews where not in sequence - but "interrupted by scenes of you at the cementery -- then return to the interview. I dunno. Parang hindi continuous interview lang.

    The rap was good. Ha!

  9. I hope and I pray that our Church in the Philippines (CBCP in particular) would find this program of yours as a concrete response to the "signs of the times." I have been looking forward to this kind of ministry... May our bishops and those concerned in the media ministry shelve in their resources (financial support specifically) to sustain your apostolate . Kudos! God bless you and your co-ministers!

  17. You don't need luck. You need the 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit. And if you want your ministry to not only work, but to succeed, you need divine inspiration.

Remember to follow your teachings according to Sacred Tradition and to follow our Catholic Church as it is passed down through the Magesterium.

Do not digress. Remain steadfast. Fear no persecution. Love always Jesus Christ, His mother and His church.

    Amen.

  18. IN BLUE JEANS???!!!

bo, VESTMENTS and habits are COOL too...

bakit franciscans dito sa pilipinas iba sa franciscans sa ewtn? (mfvas and cfrs)...dito franciscans hindi na nag ha-habit, blue jeans nalang...tsk tsk...

i DO hope hindi mo binabali wala and orthodoxy, L:ITURGY and symbols BO....

in ewtn, they are very faithful to the pope and his teachings. they teach LITURGY, and theya re centered in the eucharist....

your charism and evangelization ministries are good bo, but i hope you can teach young filipinoes today THEOLOGY....as they say, if you want to really know God, then know THE CHURCH...

BTW, nabalitaan ko na mawawala na raw ang ewtn sa cable tv dito sa philippines??? papaltan na daw ang channel 60 ng TCT ????

    i hope not.

  19. I will pray for the success of your show. As EWTN media missionary, I believe that Filipino catholics should take advantage of all new technologies to propogate HIS word. Let us ALL be part of new way of evangelization.

Filipino priest may not be wearing their clerics/habit as often as priests here in U.S. siguro because of weather but we do not know what is in their heart. Baka mas holy pa sila kahit na ka blue jeans.

Since it year of the priests. Let us continue praying for all the priests in the world.

Mabuhay ang lahat ng kaparian sa Pinas. Mabuhay ka Bo!

  22. Hi Bo,

EWTN is such an inspiring dream by Mother Angelica. I'm currently reading her Biography right now and it's amazing how it happened. I have always wanted to be part of something like that. I even kept on looking if there were job openings that I can apply to because working for an organization that talks about God 24 hours a day is amazing.

This project of yours is great and I hope I can help out in some way. I work as an HR practioner by day and a youth minister by night. It will be very inspiring to see you put up something like this to bridge all believers of the faith together.

    Blessings,
    Kathy
