Hi friends,
With a subtitle like that, you may be wondering if I’m talking about beautiful blonds with curvaceous bodies in tiny red bikinis sunbathing in the beaches of
Nope.
Yes, I write this from
Yesterday, someone asked me, “Bo, where do you get all the energy? Don’t you get tired?”
It’s so glib for me to say “God”.
So cliché. So corny. So expected.
But I guess it’s a cliché because it’s so true.
I breathe in God and He’s my energy.
Oh, I also breathe in God in the phenomenal people around me. Everywhere I go, I meet the greatest specimens of humanity.
First, we’re travelling as a team. I’m travelling with five gorgeous people: Light of Jesus Foreign Missions Director Roy Pasimio and his wife Rorie, Kerygma Preacher Arun Gogna, and our preacherinblujeans.com videographer Edwin Marcelo.
Second, my local team who help organize things and welcome me in their homes is just 100% fantastic. Angie, Dawn, Em, Cris and Alfe, Bobot and Merle, Norie, Cora and Ed, Louie, Aunt Eunice and family, Mario and Tessie… They’re my family here and I feel God’s love through them.
One day, one woman complained to me, “Bo, whenever you talk of someone, I also hear words like fantastic, phenomenal, awesome… Don’t you ever meet people who are obnoxious, rude, and selfish?”
Oh, I have.
But I don’t focus on them.
You see, I insist on seeing the best in people.
Other people like looking (focusing, meditating, contemplating) on the bad sides of people.
My gosh, why do that? You’ll end up miserable.
What you focus on grows!
Long ago, I’ve made a decision that whenever I meet a human being, I’ll check out their inner beauty. Their divine goodness. Their core innocence. And it’s just been glorious so far.
Oh yes, because of this attitude, I get mugged sometimes. Cheated. Abused.
But I have now developed enough self-respect to walk out on the first sign of abuse. (Took a long time to learn that lesson.) But even at those times when I have to end a friendship, I don’t condemn or nurture bitter feelings inside me.
Even as I walk out, I inwardly bless that person, whishing only the best. Because deep inside that (%&#*^@!!!) person, God is there. The same God that dwells in me too.
So I walk out not only because I’m getting hurt, but also because the “hurter” is getting more hurt if I allow him to continue to hurt me. Ultimately, it is love for self and love for the other that makes me walk out on a friendship.
I’ll email again on what’s happening here.
In the meantime, keep seeing beauty
I remain your friend,
Bo Sanchez

Dear Bro Bo
ReplyDeleteIt's me Bro JIMMY CRUZ of SINGAPORE
If we were created in the image of God, the BEAUTY
of GOD can be seen from the innermost part of our
Heart. After God made the first human being using
HIS BARE Hands, God was amazed and He said GREAT
HUMAN BEING, FANTASTIC MAN, WONDERFUL PERSON, HANDSOME
LIVING CREATURE, AWESOME SPECIMEN etc, etc....
There will be ALWAYS.. i REPEAT always GOOD THING
IN A PERSON.. There is always LOVE implanted in the
heart of man. You AND I were created out of LOVE
and that is the Image of God.... A person maybe
seen by his fellowmen us monster in appearance BUT
for God He see it as the Most Beautiful Specie on
the planet earth...
We are SPECIAL in the Eyes of A KING, A Special
Flavor...
Thanks Bro Bo for your commitment on the Word of
GOD....
Please continue to pray for me in spreading the
Good News here in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
Please pray for me also as your Partner in distributing
the Shepherds Voice books also.
God Bless
Thanks my name is included already in the Store
Locator of the website of Shepherds Voice.

Brother BO,
ReplyDeleteMabuhay po kayo!
Out of topic po ang sulat ko. Urgent lang po na mahingi ang tulong ng mga
taong tulad nyo. kahit nagdalawang isip po kami kasi nabasa po namin sa isang
blog entry nyo na you praise Call canters. May mga nabibigyan nga po ng
trabaho.
Looking the best in people is something (honesty aside po) that I have been trained to do. Perhaps for the reason that I am always been misjudged as well when people don't understand what I am doing. Focusing on the bad side of the person makes me hate which I try to avoid. Nasisira po araw ko kasi puro kasalbahihan na lang ang mapag-uusapan.
ReplyDeleteThank you, bro. Bo for the reminder. By the way, I just bought all your books. Addict na ako. :-) Please keep on writing. Your writing is one of the most honest I have read.
To Queenie, let's pray for those call centers agent you are talking about and the expats aswell and the HR managers. As your entry implies, they need it.
Many thanks and God Bless.

Dear Bro. Bo,
ReplyDeleteI really like this article 'cause i tried so hard to practice what you preached in here, of course , with God giving me the " energy. "
Seeing the good in every person that i meet makes me happy , most of all, it relieves stress!!! Why bother over unnecessary things , time is precious !... it could have been spent on things that enrich the soul. Besides, who cares 'bout what other people think of me, right? what matters is, what God thinks of me and if i look pleasing to His sight.
More power to you and your Ministry of sharing God's love to His people! We thank God for you.

hi queenie, suggestion lang.. why dont you ask a help from a famous documentary show on tv so they can have that topic on tv that can be seen by the viewers as well as the public officials for the rescue....
ReplyDeletedamn... i love this site!! and i love people like you bo!! hope there'd be more men out there of your kind... damn..
ReplyDeleteto Queenie,
ReplyDeleteI am working in a call center, I am a call center agent, too.. I can not believe that it is happening right now,, nkakalungkot naman kasi parang ang baba ng tingin sa mga kababaihan para ganunin.. Hindi rin nman ganun kadali ang work namin, we need respect din and it takes more than a college degree level for this work.. I suggest to call the attention of the authorities para maexpose yung ganitong issues..
